Carbooters - what would you charge for this?

My friend is doing a carboot this weekend and has an old meat safe to sell - its metal, around 2ft by 1ft with mesh on the front - free standing but could go on a wall. She has had it for around 30 years and so did her mum before her so at a guess its around 60+ years old.

Any ideas what to charge for it as I dont have a clue?

I would take it to a local auction house instead and see if I could get better money for it. Many people at car boot sales expect 'something for nothing' these days and will probably offer you peanuts for it when they know its worth more than that!

with that kind of thing where the value is anyone's guess, i think i'd be tempted to run a kind of auction at the car boot - get people to write their highest bid, name & phone number down, and, at a certain time later in the day, highest bidder wins. you can then call to arrange pick up/delivery for a later date.
