Hi guys, I've tried to get the guys name and address from eBay but all they will give me is the basic contact info you would normally get by requesting it online. I've registered with the MCOL website as suggested but you need the full name and address to claim and eBay are adamant I can't have it do to DPA stuff. What can I do?0

Don't you have the email sent to you, it should provide the seller info on it , for example an item I bought today had this on the standard mail from eBay
Sale price: £41.99
Quantity: 1
Subtotal: £41.99
Estimated delivery:2-3 business days
Sales Tax none
Shipping & Handling: Royal Mail 1st Class Standard 0
Seller:
Seller Information: Name & addressExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -

If you buy from a business seller you get all the info, plus full address details will be on the auction page. Yes technically he can sell the phone on, but if the seller does not meet his obligations with the contract, the operator can block the phone, even if its been sold on, most contracts are for 18-24 months now, so you got to rely on that person keeping his contract for that amount of time
As I said I have been caught out before with vodafone, and that is the reason they gave me, also they wouldn't unlock the phone even though the original person did not own the phone any longer.
Sorry but your're wrong (at least with o2)
The phone is considered a gift, it can be passed along as and when.
They therefore cannot cancel a phone where the original recipient defaults.
They can only apply IMEI blocks for lost/stolen.0 -

Yes but we are talking about vodafone here, I know they have a policy in place where they block phones when someone defaults or cancels their contract before end of term, because its happened to me about 2 years agoExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors.
