Thank you for your help. :)

I've been doing a little bit of research (or trying to lol) and I was wondering if VLC would allow me to watch my region 1 DVDs unlimitedly?

worked on my old Toshiba PC ( purchased 2008) . better player than WMP for watching DVD's .

region hacking is totally legit by the way . my super expensive Arcam came advertised as pre hacked when i brought it from a high end dealer .
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

    Thanks everyone. :)

I downloaded VLC to give it a go and it worked a treat. :) I'm not sure how old this laptop is as I inherited it from my OH but I think he's had it since about 2007ish.
