Advice on begonia corms

Have started off my corms resting on a tray of a mix of compost and sand. They are sprouting very tiny green bits that look like they will turn into shoots.

My question is could some kind person tell me how big the shoots should before I plant in pots? I haven't been able to find any advice on this.

Thank you in advance.

Another related question, do you bury the leaves that have grown or try to get the corms under the soil, and the leaves above?

Oooh, think I must have done it the wrong way cos I buried my corms in pots of seed compost and a bit of sand and the corms started shooting after about 6 weeks :o

I was going to plant them outside in a week or so.

Should I have just rested them on the compost?

Thanks for the replies. I was told to put them on compost and water that trying not to get the dints in the centres damp. Mission accomplished.

From your advice Jammy dodger I will now plant in their growing pot (very sunny position) keep watered and hopefully they will grow. This will mean inevitably the shoots are covered.

It is a small thing but nowhere, inc. the leaflet from T&M gave any indication of how big the shoots should be, so thank you v. much, will plant them up tomorrow.
