I have been hearing lately about wireless USB gear. I want to get my scanner working from across the other side of the room and this sounds ideal, has anyone got any recommendations?

Easiest way - Just make a home network and "share" your scanner to you network - your laptop should then pick this up as if connected wired, assuming you are talking about using it with a laptop of course.0
