Hi
Can anyone help. Have solid oiled oak flooring throughout ground floor of house. Its been down 2 years and never re-oiled yet. Now very dull. We do damp mop every so often. Also have it in the kitchen (yes, daft, I know) and this is now very grimy. Does anyone know of a cleaning solution that will deal with this. Or the best way to tackle it? I've tried the WOCA wood cleaner and it didnt really do much.

10 years ago I used danish oil on my oak flooring and after giving it 3 coats it has never needed more than a quick mop...In the other house i lived in I sanded the floor boards with a machine i hired.. Maybe you need to do the sameOf course I’m no expert.0

Depends if the floor was lacquered before it was laid. If lacquered, then it's just worn the top coat off and would require a sand before applying a new finish.
If it was oiled, then you have to apply oil on a reqular basis to keep it in good nick. I can't imagine that it would have been oiled, I think it's been lacquered and the top coat has just dulled.
Does the surface still feel smooth or it is slightly dry and textured?0
