Hi,

We have a eucalyptus tree in our back garden. It is about 5 years old and as tall as our neighbors house! I would say about 12ft!?

I live in Kent and wondered how much it would roughly cost to have cut down?

Thank you and kind regards

I took ours down 2 years ago it was crooked and slopping to close to house, it was around 10foot tall. I just pulled it out didnt seem to be deep rooted

Then cut it up and took to tip

    Thank you savemoney :-)

My husband want's to take it down himself but im concerned he may "damage" himself or the house next door!, as it is quite close to the neighbors house. I have been told they are shallow rooted but in terms of pulling it down I'm worried it will fall into next doors house!

How easy was it to pull down??

He is talking about getting up a ladder and cutting it down from the top up!!!

Which is why I thought it might be safer to have it taken down by a professional.

Mine was about 5 foot from house and next doors too as its on the edge of a border

I started digging it up and give it a push both ways and it came loose, I was surprised how shallow the roots are

    It was very easy

My husband has informed me it is about 20ft tall!! So he definitely won't be able to push it over as it way too big!

Looks like back to climbing a ladder and cutting it down!

    Thanks again savemoney

Okay if it wont go like said, cut it down to the root

    Thsi stuff will kill roots

Its like a waterier gel you put on. It killed a shrub I had 2 years ago stump remains though and also used on a large conifer a month or two back at MIL house

lol - yeh i thought you must have midgets for neighbours if their house was only 12ft tall. :)

We have one I planted about 5 years ago as a sapling and its now hit 18-20 ft.
Mine is about 30 ft from the house but if it was any close would have to take it down.
Fantastic trees but I should have researched it a bit more before parting with my 50p at the boot sale.

We had a eucalyptus that was a bit bigger, probably about 6 or 7 years old, and had grown HUGE! We paid tree surgeons £50 to chop it down as we couldn't do it ourselves. The trunk was very difficult to climb as it is sappy and bendy, but the surgeons managed it on harnesses. There was a surprising amount of wood and branches when they had finished, but luckily they took these away too... good luck!
