Lessors lying to my estate agent to stop sale going through

            Yesterday morning our Solictor was appaled by the Lessors behaviour, and spoke to them. By the afternoon they had dropped of a letter to the Solictor saying that would not accept dogs in the flat as their tennant has a phobia of dogs. Our solictor says they havent got a leg to stand on, but it will probably put off our buyers, we then have to go through and claim compensation from them. They havent sent in the Buildings insurance yet (lost allegedly) and are now going on holiday for 3 weeks, which even the solictor thought sounded a bit convienent, meanwhile we sit here worrying.
 I might buy dogs for presents for all of my other neighbours.......
 Has the lessor been negligent renting a flat to someone with an alleged medical condition knowing that we could have pets here.:(0

            Sorry but their tenants phobias are not your problems, your lease allows dogs end of story.
 If they are going on holiday then they need to get the information in before they go and if they haven't been paying for the insurance then you need a refund for monies taken under false pretenses.
 I would also follow your solicitors advice and sue the crap out of them, rather than a monetary award I would ask for half of the freehold or get them to allow you to purchase your half.
 It sounds like they haven't been fulfilling their obligations as freeholder and you selling has brought this into the light.0

            I was named on the buildings insurance so thought I would get it direct, but when rang up the insurance company they said my name was taken off so I couldnt get a copy, I did however get a copy sent to the Lessors ready for when they come back from Holiday.0

 Freeholder dropped letter to our solictor saying that in their opinion no pets are allowed.
 Our legal advice has been that they have not got a leg stand to stand on, just want to sale and not go to court.
 Estate agent is prepared to go to court due to the verbal abuse they recieved....0

 The pets issue is not a court matter, it would be handled by a Leasehold Valuation Tribunal. You could try threatening that via your solicitor. Read some of the LVT decisions on the LEASE website, you well may find there are some pet-related ones.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

 Their opinion has to be backed up by the lease. If the lease allows pets then they are wrong.
 The problem is this dispute will probably disrupt your sale. If it does follow your solicitors advice and sue for losses.
 The freeholder despite this disagreement has no reason to hold up any other inquiries or the lease extension.0
