How long to wait for an inheritance

I am not sure if this is in the correct place, if there is somewhere else that it would be better placed I could try to move it.
About 15 years ago my husbands aunt died. Her 2nd husband (1st husaband died) then made a will to share all her estate between her great nephews and nieces. She never had children.
The money (less than 5000 pounds per child) was to be inherited by each child when they reached their 21st birthday. All the money was deposited in the Post Office.
The executor of the Will is the sister of the Aunt that died.
My daughter inherited her money about 8 years ago. We cant remember how long after her birthday that she received the money but it wasnt very long.
My son was 21 at the begining of April. Until now he hasnt received anything at all about his inheritance. We live outside UK, so my husband has written to his Aunt (the executor). He has spoken to his mother (sister of the Executor) and she in turn has spoken to his Aunt.
The only information that we have is that paperwork has been sent to daughter of the 2nd husband for signing.
How much more time would be considered reasonable to wait? Can we ask where the money is, account number, bank, etc?
Is there anything we can do to try to speed things up at all? We wrote to the Executor weeks before his 21st birthday to make sure she was up to date with address, bank account number, branch address.
Any help/ideas with this would be more than welcome.
