Students and Tax

I had a part-time job at uni, although I never saw my pay slips and my P45 got lost in the post I presume I was paying tax.
I did 2-3 sifts a week. I also have a part time job at home, no I live at home but still at uni, again only 1-2 shifts a week so have supplementary income beyond general living expenses.
I have seen my current pay slips and I'm on PAYE BR20 tax. I'm guessing that was the same in Manchester. I'd imagine I have £100-200 pounds for the tax year ending in April.
Does anyone know since I obviously didn't hit the tax threshold, if I can claim this back? Or as a full-time student would this count as "second job tax"?
Also how do I claim it back?

It sounds like your on the wrong tax code you paying tax at rate you pay for a second job. What your yearly wage rate?
Phone your local tax office they'll sort it out for you.
There no discount for being a student and has nothing too do with how much tax you pay unless you've got a summer job where you can apply to use up your tax limit in over the holidays.
here how to claim tax back, if your being payed by BACs when your on the right code next payday you should get it back.

HMRC website is a brilliant site although at the moment the website is under maintenance. it'll tell you everything you need to know.0 -
Well probably about £1200 plus I have my student loan in an ISA but if I'm right the interest from this doesn't count?0

Student loan and the ISA don't count only your earning. At the wage level you shouldn't be paying any tax. Phone them on Tuesday0
