I've just bought a little netbook laptop thingy and want to take it on my summer hols to check the internet. Wondered what is best, I have an O2 dongle but not sure if that works outside UK. It is Zante where I'll be going.
TIA

DON'T use it there. It might work but it will cost a LOT. Check with O2 first how much they charge abroad. It will be cheaper to buy something down there or use a (free?) wifi connection.0 -
Which model of O2 dongle do you have?0

Try to find wifi down there, your O2 dongle will be very expensive. Perhaps your hotel will provide wifi, even if you have to pay for it I would still expect it to be much cheaper than O2 mobile broadband, which from a quick look at the O2 website appears to cost £3 per MB in Europe.0

Have you checked as to whether it is already unlocked by placing another SIM card within? If not, I'll send you unlocking instructions.0 -

A Greek oneHave a look when you're there. I did this once in Austria and paid €20 for 1 GB instead of £1.50 per MB  I think T-Mobile charges in the EU.

Any SIM. Just ask to borrow a friend's SIM for a few minutes if you don't have one from another network at hand.
Of course you should not wait until you get to Greece before you check.
When you get there, you might be able to get online with a SIM from Wind or Vodafone.
May be a good idea to send a email to get an idea of what would be available.0 -

Hi, Sorry for the delay and thanks for input so far. I have tried putting an orange SIM in the O2 dongle and stuck it in the USB the light flashes green but not blue as it does with the O2 one. Does this mean it is locked? Or how am i supposed to tell? and if it is then please would you advise me on how to I can unlock it
