I have a spare remote key fob for my mondeo I'm selling, how on my new car the battery for the remote has died.

Is there anyway I can program my old Ford Mondeo key to my new Ford Mondeo?
If so, please explain :D

Thanks

    Thanks
Will this still work even if the remote has already been programmed to another car?

Think you'd need to get a new blade cut for the new car and use the button bit from yer old one? Dunno.

Complete new key isnt too dear to be honest.

Last time I contacted Ford though they told me a new remote unit and programming was £120+ VAT

I have the blade key, just want to use the spare remote from the other car as the battery has died for remote locking.

I'll try what it says on that site just don't know if it will work as has already been programmed to another car :o

Have you thought of just replacing the battery!! would be a hell of a lot simpler.

And yes a second hand one would work.
  • The 3 button remote you have will manualy programme to your mondeo to operate the central locking, however if you look at the base of the remote you will see the tip of a glass transponder chip.
you would have to replace the chip from your present remote to the new remote, but be careful or you will damage the chip when removing it and then your car wont start.
The only other way is to programme in another chip which will have to be done diagnosticaly by a Auto locksmith.
