Dripping noise behind wash machine

Hope somebody can help me with this!! I hear a constant dripping noise behind the washing machineeven when it is not in use. I cannot see any leak and I wonder whether there is a leak behind the washing machine and the sink. All the units are fitted so it is difficult for me to check. I am not sure who shall I call, a plumber or washing machine repairer. I am a bit concerned in case there is a leak behind the units which I cannot see and if I do not investigate it might cause more problems in the future like rotting the skirting boards. I would appreciate some advice on this please. Thanks

Is there no way you can drag it out to check - it might even be something as simple as a hose that needs tightening. Or just something dripping inside. The sooner you know the better. The problem is you dont know what damage it's causing in the meantime. It could be seeping underneath your floor (had this happen to my kitchen floor) or if the wall it's against is a neighbours it could be causing ingress into their property too (had this happen to me as well!)0

Open washing machine door, and drag it out and have a look.
If need be, disconnect if overnight and see whats there in the morning...0 -
You really should just drag the washer out and check. The machine should be connected to the house plumbing with a hose. There should be an isolator tap at the join. The machine hose is fitted to this by way of a hand tightened nut and these can be the problem. Try just tightening up the nut (by hand and clockwise to the isolator tap) and test with kitchen towel. Do this before you call out anyone. Good luck.0

Hi,
can you slip a newspaper or thin cardboard under machine and check periodically.0 -
Thanks, have found got a leaking pipe behind the washing machine. Need to call the plumber, water has already seeped in under the floor and against the wall. Impossible to lift the floor as they are tiled, I guess I will have to leave it to dry on its own. This has been going for 4 months being hopeless at DIY, I ignore it. Is there anything else I could do regarding water seeping underneath the floor? Thanks0
