That's a measure of speaker output not elec used.

Which is also related to the power consumption of an amp.... A speaker cannot output 100 watts if the amp it is drawing signal from is not also drawing 100 watts of power or around 7 amperes. So y system draws at its maximum rms 1500 watts or just over 100 amperes at any one time

I bet it doesn't. Look at the power supply - it will be no more than 50W.
I have measured it, and it draws just over 300W from the mains when running at full tilt (Logitech Z5500)

    Doesn't work that way.

If I am on my own I average 5KWH per day. It went up to 6 on a day this week when the washing machine and dishwasher were on. When I have a couple of extra people it usually goes up to 9 or 10KWH per day- more than likely the extra showers and laptops.

    Same here.
I have the npower one and over the 21 days since I installed it, it has been 17% over what the meter says.

Daily average is showing as 6.18kWh so if meter is correct, it's probably more like 5.13kWh

Single or couple doesn't affect consumption a great deal. The TV, fridge, fishtank are not affected.

Don't forget that the fridge/freezer will be using no electricity for much of the time so will not show on your 'tick over consumption'. It is only when the compressor operates will it start using electricity. Is your fishtank heated? pump on all the time? lights?

What sort of TV do you have - a Plasma can use a lot. A desktop PC 150 to 200Watts.

i realise its only an indication but i am determined to get it down. when i wake up its already reading 2.30 kwh so that doesnt give me much for rest of the day nd i havent put the washing macine on yet! the things i have on over night are fridge/freezer, v small fishtank with no lights, alarm, sky box on standby. I will have to have a look at the old freezer i have in the garage as its really ancient and the door isnt brill so thats maybe taking a chunk of it

Based on my meter readings I use around 5.5 to 6 kwh/day in winter and around 3.5 to 4 kwh/day in summer. There's only me in the flat, hob, hot water and heating is gas. I work from home so am in most of the day with either the laptop or desktop on. The only things I have on 24/7 are the fridge, the freezer, the phone and the timer for the boiler. Everthing else is switched off at the socket unless I'm using it (including the sky box)
