Either she is in need (sickness or disability?) or she has dependents that would be in need without benefits (children?).firefox quote If money is so tight why were you looking at flights to Australia back in March??

And the Disneyland trip Easter 2008? The Australia trip anytime in 2009? The Nice flights October 2009? :rotfl:Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
my brother deffo does not pay what you are quoting
I presume that is addressed at me.
Your brother lives in either a LA/HA tenancy and, as such, enjoys subsidised rents which are tightly controlled. The figures I have quoted are the LHA (Local Housing Allowance) rates, which is what used to be Housing Benefits. They are calculated based on the average rental price in a given area and are as good a basis as any for working out average rents.
I shall waste a little more of my time by telling you that there are available properties on Rightmove, big enough for your family and fairly local to where you live now for considerably less than you already pay, much less the increased rent.
As I'm already wasting my time by telling you what you clearly DON'T want to hear, if your income is low enough for rental payments to be an issue, your LA may be able to assist via LHA. But I suspect that their calculations will lead them to believe that your income is at a level where your rent payments are affordable to you. But it might be worth asking them, just in case.
Of course, I realise that what you want to hear is that you, like the rest of your family, have some sort of automatic entitlement to subsidised housing and that someone on this board will offer you the magic code you need to access it. Well, as so many of your family have clearly demonstrated a certain knack at elbowing their way to the front of the queue for what is a diminishing social resource, perhaps they would be better placed to offer some tips.
I will say that the method you have indicated may not result in the outcome you had hoped for.0 -
I don't think I've fully understood this thread, but OP, maybe there is something here which can help you, such as the formal procedure landlords have to follow with rent increases. (A little snippet from a well set out document full of info below.)
Shelter - Scotland. If the rent increase is too high and you cannot get your landlord to agree to a cheaper rent, you may have to look for alternative accommodation. However, if you think the rent is unreasonably high compared to the rents for similar properties in the area, you can apply to the private rented housing panel (PRHP), which can set a market rent for you (see 'can I challenge the rent increase' below).0 -

It won't surprise me. But it will disappoint me.Do you mean Holand?
It's a reference to a comment by the OP in another of his threads.
"Regarding council housing,my cousin works for the council and i know im going to get labelled a racist but she cant believe how many polish families get priority-thats not right i dont care what anyone says that is not right. "0 -
