I've tried a few different scratch removers etc from motor parts shops . Not too impressed and you have to be really careful as it's easy to make a bad situation worse (It might also just be that I'm crap at DIY car repairs !:)
Might be worth checking out scratch repair company ( plenty on Google )- bit more expensive but should get a good job !0 -
How deep are the scratches?0

Pay a bodyshop to give it a mop and polish. Either that or get a car valeter to try clay barring it first.0

If you wet them do they disappear? If so a polish will do the trick, if not then time to repaint.0

I just PXed a 56 Black Panther Focus which had lots of faint scratches. Used the Autoglym kit from Halfords and a lot of them I managed to cover.
All depends on how deep etc the scratches are.0 -
I recently used Colour Magic (the one with the wax Chipstick) and it did a surprisingly good job. I must admit I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised and the sratches that were too big for the polish could but covered with the wax Chipstick. I then went over the paintwork with a high quality wax to protect it. I got the Colour Magic from Halfords for £10 although at the time they were doing 3 for the price of 2 so got it a bit cheaper as I needed a few other bits and pieces.
You could try the above first and if it doesn't work then get the car mopped at a bodyshop, which I think could be around £70.0 -
I have used Meguiars scratch X on some fine scratches on my car. It worked great & I cannot see any marks on my car now.

Incedentally, has anyone seen the adverts for these things on the telly?
http://www.bestdirect.tv/product-Smart-Pen-2-4-1--FREE-Smart-Car-Polish-SMART.htm
It's a scratch pen, and the TV advert looks absolutely unbelieveable, really deep thick scratches completely disappearing before your eyes. I can't believe it actually works but I would have thought the advertising authorities would not allow such adverts if they were faked. So, has anyone ever actually used one or seen tha ads?0
