cdrom help please

when i put any kind of disc in dvd, cd etc absolutlely nothing at all, gone through old posts and tried a few things but nothing working.
need to sort asap as ive gone and uninstalled my camera from pc and use it to upload pics for ebay
any help would be greatly appreciated

    does the drive actually show up when you go to "My Computer" ??

    do you have Itunes installed ??

    I don't follow why you need a CD anyway, you could either download the software from the Camera manufacturers site, or simply copy the photo's off the memory card (assuming you have a card reader)

    I can't think of ANY bundled software worth having.

    wow that was quick Browntoa, it shows DVD-RW Drive(F:) when clicked on nothing happened, now i have tried again and allsorts keep popping up and disappearing.
    no i dont have Itunes installed but i think my son did once when he first got his ipod

    CHR, desktop,thanks never thought of downloading software as for having a card reader im sure i have but still old school afraid and never really looked into it,silly i know but i still would like to fix the problem if possible thanks

    You don't need to have the camera software installed in order to be able to use it. If you plug the camera in, Windows will see it as a removable drive. You can use Windows built in File and Photo Transfer Wizard to move them to your desktop.
