Hi, i'm looking for some advice on HD tvs, I'm going to buy a new tv this week and am looking at full HD. What I would like to know is as well as a new tv would I need to upgrade my virgin media set top box to a HD one so that i dont get a fuzzy screen??? or would my regular virgin box give me a good HD picture. Sorry if i'm confusing everyone I'm completely lost when it comes to things like this

You need an HD source to get an HD picture. So if your current box is only SD then you will get little benefit from your new TV
You certainly won't get an HD picture0 -

If you want to watch HD then yes. And a blu-ray player for all the new DVDs you will be buying;)0 -

How much are you looking at spending? What size tv? Whats being plugged into it?
Dont go reading into specs, most of them are made up BS.
Read reviews from reputable sites ~

Full HD or 1080p is not available from Sky, Freesat, or Virgin, it is 1080i or 720p.
1080p can only be sourced from PS3 blu ray ATM.
Just in case you want to save a bit and get a 720p set. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
