Crisis loan application

Hi everyone
I am currently claiming incapacity benefit for a long-term health condition. Yesterday I withdrew my fortnightly payment (over 200.00) to pay bills, food etc, but between the cash machine and post office either I somehow managed to lose the money. I'm not sure whether I dropped it or was pickpocketed. I retraced my steps but no luck (busy city centre so if I did drop it it will be long gone...)
I now literally have nothing to last me the next fortnight, and no food in apart from bread and milk. I want to apply for a crisis loan but will they accept my reason or just tell me to get lost for being so careless? I could kick myself but it is done now and I need a way to pay for food and bills for the next 2 weeks. Can anyone offer any advice please?

You can certainly apply on Tuesday, be honest about the reason you are applying - they will either say yes or no. I doubt they will tell you to get lost - despite the fact that 'I dropped my wallet/purse/money' is almost certainly one of the most common reasons for applications. In the meantime, start looking around for stuff you can sell or pawn. In the future I would suggest you try paying bills online or by cheque as losing £200 was remarkably careless.0
