Free home access

New To This but thought I would Pass This on, a friend of mine got a grant worth £528.00

Home Access is the government programme which will help to ensure that more children in state-maintained
education in England have access to technology at home to support learning. The programme was born out of
the recognition that there are still a significant number of learners who lack access to a computer and the
internet at home. By March 2011 the programme will benefit over 270,000 households that currently lack
access and will initially target learners in years 3 to 9 inclusive.
Do you qualify?

I'm not sure what the position is with this scheme now, as it is run by BECTA, a quango which it was announced last week are going to be scrapped as part of the new governments cost savings.

Yes there has been a thread running on the freebie board for months about this-I found out about it there and my son got a samsung laptop, bag and dongle in April. It's a wonderful scheme-my son was almost in tears when it eventually came (I had problems for about 6 weeks because they couldn't find his name on the national free school meals list-turned out they had misspelled it.) I think he had given up and was just so emotinal when it arrived.
Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!
  • lets hope this excellent scheme isnt finished.
