mate has a broken tv
not an asda special, a 50" plasma from dixons
its 13 months old so just out of warranty
i'm sure SOG act comes ito this
LG don't want to know...shop don't want to know
it was bought on extended credit and no payments made yet other than deposit
so, advice, please
would the credit provider get involved?

The credit provider won't get involved at all, it simply isn't their problem because all they did was lend your mate money (it doesn't matter what he spent it on).
As far as the television failing at 13 months goes, SoGA can easily be invoked and he'll be on to a winner (the old guy whose crap Tesco telly failed at 16 months is proof of that).
Must say I am surprised at LG not accepting responsibility, they aren't normally like that when such a short time frame has elapsed from the so called standard 12 months.
PS
Doesn't surprise me that DSG didn't want to know, but I'm guessing he didn't go in saying the right thing if he is going to accept their refusal to sort it.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0 -

That is not necessarily the case - I had a problem with an extended credit deal and went to the finance provider - Black Horse. Very, very helpful, they even offered to send someone out to me if the retailer didn't play ball - he did !0
