Hi everyone not sure if this is correct place to start this thread but hopefully in few months we will be moving house which will then mean a huge comute for my hubby, he will be traveling 195 miles every fri, then 40 miles on sat and 40 miles on sun and then 195mile journey back home again i dont want it to cost the earth so any tips on what car would be good to do this lengthy comute? i was thinking something small like KA or smart car but didnt know if becuae it was so many miles something a little more powerful would work out cheaper?
V confused hope u can help, thanks Ronnie

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. Over 20,000 miles a year. I would hate driving such a small car for those distances. You want something that will be relatively relaxed at motorway cruising speed and at that mileage a diesel would probably be the better option.0

I was going to say the same thing. I drive a small car and am temporarily doing about 400 miles a week, mostly on motorways and big dual carriageways and it's really not ideal. It's very noisy, for one thing, which makes me very tired and a bit stressed. If I was going to be doing this much driving for much longer I'd definitely be buying a bigger car purely for the comfort factor.
I'd look at something like a Mondeo or Vectra.0
