Is BT being crafty? I think so.....

We've moved our custom to Talk Talk, and coincidentally(?) we've had 2 service breakdowns. We've been with BT for years, and never had problems. As soon as we moved to Talk Talk which we've been with for 3 months, we started having problems. First time, BT engineers came out to get the problem fixed (TT organised this). Now, less than 6 weeks later, the line's out of order again, and we have to wait a week to get the engineers in. We've heard through the grapevine that BT can do this, and once you "go back to BT" then things are good. Is there any truth to tis, and if so, how can we get it sorted? A family member said a BT engineer let slip once, and told them they'd done all the "were allowed to do". I smell a rat. Does anyone else? Please help.

Paranoia on your behalf, it could be a genuine fault with the line. I'd wait & find out the appropriate reasons for the fault before shouting the odds

Oh good. Another conspiracy theory.
Personally, I'd be asking myself, what's changed?
The answer, of course, is the firm from which you now rent your line.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
BT may do underhanded things like this but I personally dont think they would risk it because Ofcom would have a field day with them if it turned out to be true.
The problem could actually be TalkTalk especially if you are using their LLU service. LLU (Local Loop Unbundling) means you generally use TalkTalk's own equipment in local telephone exchanges (those green boxes by the roadside) instead of BT's own. The advantage to this for us consumers (and TalkTalk) is that its cheaper than using BT's own equipment.
It really depends on exactly what the problem is/was, etc but I would be surprised if BT did something as underhanded as this but can not say for certain they wouldn't - just that its unlikely.
Remember that TalkTalk are also having problems now due to being over-subscribed so this would not help things a lot.
I've actually witnessed CPW/TalkTalk being underhanded as well so I personally don't trust TalkTalk at this moment until they can sort out their own problems, etc.0 -
utter nonsense ...any BT group employee doing what I think you are alluding too would be out of a job ...if it were sanctioned from senior management it would result in legal action0

TalkTalk is just a poor service, their phone service wasn't bad when it was just a CPS service, their broadband has been disgustingly poor since day one, so this over-subscribed nonsense doesn't wash in that respect, because it's always been terrible.
You pay crap money, you get a crap service. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0
