Just a warning that theres a scam letter been sent out, saying you are the winner etc etc of the Euro Millions World Cup Lottery Programme.
Asks you to send to Westminster Finance Creditors of your bank details etc or contact a Bernard Clegg on 02033189961.
IGNORE
I know most people on here will realise it is a scam but some one who you know, ie an elderly relative or neighbour may not. So many elderly people have been taken in and sent their personal details to these dreadful people.
Hope i have posted in the right place and been clear enough in what i have written, not the worlds best scholar

I just got one of these letters through the post today! I'm amazed how they got my home address.
To begin your claims, contact SR. RICHARD JONES the Foreign Service Manager of ABBY STANDARD CHARTERED, etc etc etc...

    :naughty:

They could have at least used better quality paper!

    Oops...I've got one too. £800,000.00 I've won.

It's on pretty poor paper, from a Harry Butler at Euromillions FIFA World Cup Super Lottery, Fifa-Strasse 20, 8044 Zurich, Switzerland
    International Lotto Promotions/Prize Award Dept

I'm to send my claim to Abbey Standard Chartered Consulting, agents, Representatives & Security Services, 25 Canada Square, Canary Wharf, London E14 5LQ

They are asking for bank details.

The telephone number is 0208-338-0655 and we're not to tell anyone about this to avoid unwarranted abuse of the program or fraudulent acts from criminal minded and unauthorized persons(s):rotfl:

Might give them a ring later on and put them on speakerphone for entertainment, as we're having a party.
No not really. No doubt the phone number is premium rate..

Lo behold the post code and the address on rent by James Andrew international!

And agree with previous poster as well. They could have used a better paper and a laser printer ... hehe heheh.
  • A letter adressed to my pensioner mum was sent yesterday, with a sheet overleaf asking to provide bank details amongst other sensitive information. It said "We are delighted to inform you of the Euro millions World Cup Super Lottery Program held on 26/09/2010,
Due to mix up of names and numbers the results were released on 28/09/2010. Your name (my mums name)
attached to ticket number 47622465856-7753 with serial number: 3772-554 and track number 654694 drew
lucky numbers: 13-21-27-36-38-45 with bonus ball 4 which consequently won in the 5th category, you have
therefore been approved the winner for a lump sum pay out of Eight Hundred Thousand Pounds
    (£800.000.00) congratulation"

Please note the most dangerous part says "this information must be kept away from public to avoid unwarranted abuse of the program or fraudulent acts
from criminal minded and unauthorized person(S)"

It says “To begin your claims, contact SR. FRED LUCAS the Foreign Service Manager of ALLIANCE SECURITY
COMPANY TEL: 0203-005-5232/ 0207-060-6191 /: 0207-117-4704 for the processing and remittance of
your Winnings. Remember to quote your reference number in all correspondence
Finally all winning must be claimed not later than 30/10/2010. After this date, the entire Fund will be returned
to the UK BOARD OF INTERNAL REVENUE as unclaimed. Furthermore should there be any change of
your personal details or address, do inform your claims agent as soon as Possible. Enclosed with this form is
payment processing form which you should complete and return urgently To Fax NO: 0207-117-4704 for
    immediate processing of your claims.”

I've complained to Consumer Direct on - http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/watch_out/ I suggest that everyone does this so it can be taken seriously. Upon doing a little research, I've found that the elderly & vunerable have been conned with this since at least 2005!!! :(

  • Also, I would just like to point out that the address of the Alliance Security Company on the sheet overleaf is:

    Alliance Security Company
CONSULTING, AGENTS, REPRESENTATIVES & SECURITY SERVICES
New Bridge Street House, 30-34 New Bridge Street London EC4V 6BJ
    0203-005-5232/ 0207-060-6191/ FAX: 0207-117-4704.

I checked that address, but couldn't find a company with that name originating from there. I did, however locate companies such as Starbucks and a few banks!!!
