See if choosing the Untied States as your country does the trick0 -

It seems you will have to go to hotmail.com through an America proxy site and make the system believe you are in America. Personally I would not register for an e-mail name using a proxy server as they would be able to see all the details you put in - with at least the username and password.
Why do you want a .com rather than a .co.uk address?
You could try gmail or any other company for a .com one if you really want.0 -

Hardly a problem, as no one puts the real name and address on free webmail accounts, do they?
Easy to change the password once the account is created.0 -
Hi,
I'm still using .co.uk, with no problems, was given the option to switch to .com, but couldn't see the point, is outlook an option for you?0 -

Even if you change the password to the account, they would have seen the question and answer to the security question you put on the account so can change it back. I know it's a bit pedantic but I wouldn't personally use a proxy site!0 -

Does it make any difference whether you have a .com or .co.uk address? People aren't restricted from e-mailing you to/from either.
I've got one .com and one .co.uk address, and my other half has a .co.uk.
Hasn't held me back at all.0 -

To be honest guys I have a bussiness email that is .com so I wanted the other email to be the same or i would be typing .com when i should have been typing .co.uk and as i am not the worlds fastest typer and have not got the worlds best eyesight didn't want the hassle of typing the wrong one.
Thanks to all for your swift responses :A Just wish i was techie minded so i could help you out sometime. :eek:The solving of a problem lies in finding the solvers.0 -
I do see balloo's point about confusing email accounts that have different suffixes. My main email account is with my ISP and that is .net while I have a yahoo.com address and a hotmail.co.uk address.
The yahoo address came when I registered for a Yahoo User Group and .com came as default, it wouldn't allow me to use .co.uk even though my wife uses yahoo with that suffix.
I'm always getting the yahoo and hotmail suffixes mixed up and sometimes, when I give someone my ISP address, I write it as .co.uk instead of .net0
