Hi there
Im not here to moan and I have religiously attended my previous PCA's however this year due to a change in my circumstance I do belive I am exepmt from the PCA for the time being but I am finding it impossible to get any answer out of the job centre or Athos and they now want me to arrange a medical.
It all started when they claimed I did not return an IB50 form which I did not recieve. I contacted them straight away when they asked for the form to be returned and was sent another with an extension date of 20th May for returning. In the meantime Athos also sent me a medical date which the Job Centre told me to ignore until the IB50 was returned and reviewed. I have now done all this on the OB 50 I informed them that I am now 24 weeks with twins - rather unexpected - and apart from my migraines and vertigo which was my original problem warranting my claim I am now on crutches due to Symphis Pubis Dysfunction and will remain so for the rest of my pregnancy at the very least. I am not to stand for more than an hour, if only I could, and am on strict house rest for my health and the health of my pregnancy. As this is a twin pregnancy I am not expected to go past the end of August before I will be delivered by c section. I am seeing health professionals on a weekly basis for scans, physio and was actually in hospital overnight this week for observations as was in alot of pain.
I belive this condition and being so close to my confinement period of 28 weeks would make me exempt from having a PCA but despite explaining all this Athos have again requested I contact them to arrange an appointment - Are they right ? and if they are not who on earth do I call to contest this as either Athos or the job centre pass the buck between each other.
Also does anyone know if my incapacity will stop when Im 28 weeks and if so will I receive MA or stay on incapacity Im all confused and seem to be getting no where fast.
Any advice would be helpful.

Looking at this factsheet http://www.disabilityalliance.org/f25.htm
it does show that you are incapable of work if you are pregnant and there is a risk to either your health or the babies health but it does not say that you are exempt from the PCA.
I assume therefore that you should attend and if you have proof that you meet the above criteria they will award you the points so you 'pass' the PCA and carry on with IB.

Exemptions for medicals are few and far between, you can get home medicals if you can get supporting evidence from your GP or specialist that it would be required.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.
[/greenhighlight][redtitle]
The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that[/redtitle](house of lords debate, talking about Cameron)0
