Phoenix former policy holders

Options
Has anyone else had a letter from Phoenix asking former policy holders from Phoenix/Sun Alliance to confirm details of their policy, provide personal information etc?
They say they have important information to give us.
Obviously we want to avoid falling for a scam, but we did have an endowment with them which we cashed in a couple of years ago once we paid off the mortgage.
Any one else in this position?

No, but we have just had a 'red letter' from them, the first ever, so it may be they want to send you the FSA's booklets about misselling.

Is there a phone number on the letter you could call to check this out? Ask why they need the information, if they've written, then they must have SOME details and they'd be obliged to keep them for more than 2 years after you've cashed a policy in.

Thanks. Yes, we intend to ring up but with the Bank Holiday and visits to family it will be a few days now before we can do that.

Haven't received anything but I don't have an endowment with them only whole life.

Get their phone number from yell.com, yellow pages, directory enquiries or their own website, and phone them to ask.

Rang today and it is genuine. Because of a recaculation of with-profits they are sending us a cheque for around £17 on a policy which ended 18 months ago.

Excellent news: now, how will you spend that £17? :rotfl:

Actually the cheque will go into DH's account so I won't see any of it! It will buy a few drops of petrol for our holiday in Cornwall next month.
