Tree Peony has just arrived.

Anyone have info on best place and way to plant it up?

I live in the North East of Scotland and my front garden faces North East with the back garden getting sunlight through most of the afternoon.

Any help would be appreciated. :)

    Here you go

Please take time to prepare your planting area. In return you will receive a lifetime of enjoyment. In 10 years, most plants will grow to 4'x4'. If planting a group of tree peonies, allow at least 4 to 5 feet between them. Do not plant closer than 8-10 feet from large trees, where tree roots will compete with the peonies for nutrients and water. Choose a location with 4-6 hours of direct sun, or dappled sun/shade all day. Full sun will make the flowers fade rapidly. Full shade will result in weak and very slow growth.

I also got mine today and it says in the leaflet to make sure it doesn't get early morning sun and that it grows to 6' x 6'.

Lol it's so confusing but I am going to put it in a big planter and cross my fingers. I killed my acers because of the early morning sun so I am reluctant to put it in the front garden.

    Thanks everyone :A:A:A:A

Miner arrived today too and I'm very pleased with them - they are covered in shoots (a bit white and anaemic at the mo but I'm sure they'll be ok soon).

It's my mum's 80th birthday tomorrow so I'm really glad they arrived in time!
Oh dear, here we go again.

I just planted mine dug a bigger hole then filled with homemade compost and backfill with it. used excess soil which is very clay based into composter to be reused I let the roots go a inch below the soil level. Mine is facing East behind a fence and will only get sun mid afternoon, only place I had room given its size in a few years time it can grow up to 6ft

Took other one I got to MIL she cant plant them given her some of my compost.

My postman kindly shoved mine through the garden gates as I wasn't in.
Now im debating whether to plant them in big tubs or in the ground.
My garden is south facing and has sun all day.

I have an old White Tree Peony its nearly 50 years old, but still only about 4' 6",we bought it in Woolworths.
It is growing in the East corner of my Garden, but it has been moved around over the years.
This year it has had 10 massive Blooms!
I give it a bit of support as the Blooms seem to weigh the branches down.
