If you leave your job, how long is it before you can start to claim jsa?

You need to claim straightaway, there may well be a sanction depending on why you left your job (ie no money for a certain period) but that will be applied from whenever you claim, not from when you left your job, iyswim.0

Best to make sure you didn't leave but were laid off etc. Then no suspension of claim.0

Then the JCP will contact the employer, if you the employer says you left of your own accord or were dismissed you will probably face a sanction of up to 6 months.0
