Can anyone help me please and give me the address for the Argos credit card. I am going to take the plunge and try to claim for charges for late payments. Also can anyone advise me as to whether i can only claim for charges more than £12 or can i claim for the £12.00 as well. I know it was my fault that I have had the charges in the first place because i was late making the payments but on the amount of interest they charge i think that well covers it!!!!! I know that the addresses are prob on here somewhere but I am getting very confused with it all. Help please

Hello. You would probably find more info on the reclaiming bank and credit charges forum as people report their successes there and you can do a forum search on Argos. I am helping my son submit a complaint as well.
I would ask for a full refund of all charges staing that only a court of law can decide whether a charge is fair or not. The OFT stated that where an institution charged more It also states that they need to be the actual costs incurred. Most institutions are not willing to test this in a case of law. If Argos don't agree you are then able to take your case to the FOS. Don't forget to ask for contractual interest and 8% statutory interest that would be awarded in a court of law.
Hope this helps. Good luck!0 -
Thanks dec22 I am really confused by all this. I know it might sound stupid. When I write what exactly do I ask for (don't have old statements) because I read somewhere on this forum that When the statement was sent the person couldn't make head nor tail of it and didn't know what charges were for what. Any help would be appreciated. I know there is a letter template which I am going to use but should I add that I want a comprehensive list of charges. Do you know if anyone has had success with Argos? Any help would be appreciated.

The forums are here to try and provide as much helpas possibel from their experiences and knowledge, so ask as many questions as you want and never think anything sounds stupid.
Keep it simple, ask for a full refund of all charges applied to your card, they will understand what you are after. I've never asked for copy statements in any of my requests for refunds and I have always received more than expected but if they make you an offer you could always ask for a detailed breakdown.
Personally I think you might have to take it to the FOS after their final response because it doesn't seem as if Argos pay up that easily!
Good luck!!0
