DT overrun by moved benefit threads from the benefit section of the site

Options
It seems strange that we have a benefits section on the site but yet the board guides move any discussion on benefits to the DT section.

The DT board is being overrun by benefit threads and it's purely because the board guides in the benefits section keep transferring them to this 1.

Martin, sort it out. You will soon need to rename DT to benefits section 2

It is getting tiresome now.

Hey don't blame the board guides, we are only following guidelines set by the MSE team. BTW not all the benefit threads were moved from the benefit board and some were started here. Obviously benefits affect alot of posters and this is a discussion board afterall.

Its about helping people get their entitlement! Not about benefits policy!
This board is here for help and support for those on or looking to claim benefits, not for judgement.

Of course we all know the benefits system is a mess

Whatever you're political persuasion, we're all aware the benefits system is a mess. Whether its the malpayments of tax credits on one hand, benefit fraud on the other hand, or simply the fact that sometimes it doesn't pay to work - everyone has their grumble.

This board is here to help people with their money though..

Yet that isn't what this board is for. It's here to help people find out what they are entitled to under the current system, and to help them get it. Benefits do provide a lifeline for many, and this site is here to help people with their money, and not to judge. Of course, how to illegally defraud the benefits system shouldn't be discussed here, but ensuring you're getting your entitlement is exactly what its about.

Want to discuss the benefits system? Go to the discussion board

If you want to discuss the benefits system itself and issues around it, the appropriate place isn't here but the Discussion Board and even there, please remember courtesy and not to make it personal about anyone. This site's prime purpose it to help people with their money and I will always act to protect that.

    Thanks for your co-operation

    Martin

    I hope so.

As someone with not that many strong views either way, it does get a bit boring, and cluttery. They always go one of two ways as well, I would go so far as to say we should just have a mahoosive sticky thread at the top called Benefit Bashing where people could go to hit each other with their sticks. :D

alwaysonthego well I don't blame you- there's probably more started here than moved over anyway. :)
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

This site is one of the most badly designed websites ever. There is simply TOO MUCH information going on and the forums are no different. There are too many subforums.

I'm wondering how many more benefit threads we will have in DT before the weekend's out :D

Wonder if I will be pleasantly surprised :)

To my mind, the issue could be solved simply by having a sub-board to the Benefits board for Benefits Discussion.

Or maybe we should all get a life...
The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.

I've been suggesting a sub section for benefit discussions for ages now, it can be done they already started a House price and economy debate board after there were too many arguments on the House buying and renting board.
