Vectra 'B' display screen gone off :-s
Options
The display screen has just gone off. The screen is completely blank. As I have my own radio installed, it normally just shows the clock/temp reading and nothing else. All other lights/bulbs on the dash are working fine.
Any ideas? Is this likely to be costly to fix? Could it just be a fuse?
This damn car has cost me loads recently and as I'm looking to sell it soon, I'd rather get it sorted unless it's not cost-effective.

As for your original Q - it'll be the bulbs. Or it could be the unit - it's a common fault, apparently. Though I never once had to repair/replace one from the hundreds of Vectra's we sold.
Ha, maybe .. when the time comes ;-)
Have replaced brake discs & pads, four new tyres, new MAF, new coil pack, new lambda sensor, new battery ... all within a couple of months :-( And the exhaust & heater matrix last year.
Just about to replace the air con pipes which went bang last week .. and now this. If this years MOT fails I'm going to cry.
Will look into getting the bulbs checked ... is it DIY-able?0 -

in my opinion yes.
vents out headlamp switch out, sterring cowls off,you then have access to screws that hold instrument cluster in.
try having a look on a vauxhall forum there should be some instructions on there0 -
Cheers, will check out VVOC for a tutorial. Would much rather do it myself if I can.0
