Daft comment. Most of the polish immigrants have gone back

Daft comment. The change will be for non EU applicants.

The reason why we are all in for a tougher time is because we elected a government who tried to buy groups of voters. How can it ever be right that the unemployed get more than the working?

The answer to the massive debt problems was seemingly to cut VAT :( and keep interest rates low, sounds like a desperate vote buying scam to me.

Why did they never attempt to tackle the debt on a reasonable scale instead of handing out more benefits?

I'm a saver and i would benefit far more from higher interest rates but i'd far rather the right thing was done to get the UK back in shape than selfishly just push what would benefit me.

A country without savers is a country that ain't going anywhere. You're not being selfish in protecting your own best interests. They happen to be those of the economy as a whole. As a nation and as individuals, the UK went on a borrowing binge so such extent that national and individual debt is amongst the highest in the world. It has to be reversed. If savers have no incentive to play a role in the economy -- and currently, they don't -- then a bad situation will only worse.
