Good morning everyone

I hope you can be both money saving and a bit restful over the bank holiday.

I have a trip to the scrapyard to do when DH surfaces. Comedy show was interesting last night, but finished late so I was very tired when I got home.

I'm only working Tuesday next week as well, but I have a wedding to go to on Saturday, need to pay for my suit, get a present and fill up the car for all the driving I'm doing. :( No money saving for me.

    Morning all

Sleepover went well - they were asleep by midnight and I can just hear them waking up now - I do love kids that sleep.

No plans for today - weather's not great so I shall just potter in the house and start sorting out my next craft project.

Final ebay buyer paid yesterday so will be paying £154 off debt today. :j

Oh, and thanks to everyone for the piggy bank feedback. I will definitely make at least one and see how tricky they are. The pattern does not seem to have a sensible base (seems like you stitch it up - how can you empty it? :() so I will need to think about what to do instead.

katsu, can you sew up one of the longer edges and put a loop of ribbon and a button on the oppositde edge to keep it closed?

I'd suggest the same as Elfen - is it made of the plastic canvas? My mum got me a pattern for bird houses made out of some special stiff aieda (sp?) but I'm wondering if the plastic stuff would work.......(if you want a copy of the bird house patterns I can scan and email them to you)

Pooky, that would be great, thank you. Yes it is plastic canvas. Shall I PM you my email addy?

I wish there was a double thanks button for you and Elfen as your suggestion is ace. I'm sure a couple of fasteners should hold a money box closed - maybe I would need to put the flap somewhere that isn't the bottom so it didn't have all the weight?
