Any way of 'scheduling' an e-mail ?

I would like to send a regular reminder, say monthly, to a set number of people. The e-mail would not need to change.

Now I was wondering whether it is possible to set this up so as the computer does it for me .ie no need for me to remind myself to send out the reminder ! :beer:

If your using outlook, you can go into message options and set the "Do not deliver before" date and time. This will then automatically send the e-mail when that time arrives. You will however have to re do it for the next month.

I can't think of a way of doing a recurring version at the moment (its getting to late....)

There's no EASY, free way (that I know of) to do it within Outlook, so unless you want to pay for an add-in, then a little bit of coding, via this Microsoft article, you should manage it:

What email client are you using? You could use Thunderbird with the lightning extension (calendar) or Google Calendar.

Edit: Or do it the Linux way with a cron job:

mail -s subject email@address < /path/to/email.txt

Thank you for all the replies.

I use outlook express in work. I hoped that this facility was already there and I was too dull to find it !

I would not even consider taking it upon myself to download any type of software onto a computer in work. If it all went pear-shaped it would be my fault

It'll have to be the chickens way out and put a note in my diary to do it.

Haha, this thread reminded me of when I finished work really early on my night shift and had to email customers/internal staff of all the work i'd completed but didn't want to send the mail too early.

I set the rule up in Outlook to send at something like 3 hours later but then I logged off windows assuming the rule was set up server side! 8am in the morning I got a phonecall to hear all hell had broke loose at work because they didn't receive a work update. :eek:

And the moral of the story - never be TOO good at your job.
