I'm the same - I can't remember either. I think it was a rowan, which will be a nice companion tree for the oak sapling that my daughter was sent when she was born and which has been planted in her grandparents garden - which is large enough to take it.
That's something to take into consideration when planting your trees, is your garden big enough to take it, can you plant it far enough away from your house so that it isn't going to effect it?
No use getting a free tree if it's going to cost you thousands of pounds in the future to underpin your house because of subsidence caused by a thirsty tree!0 -
