Sure start maternity grant????

HI, I have been under the impression that the sure start maternity grant for low income families has been cut from £500 to £100 as of 1st august, but someone else has informed me that is hasnt been changed,

can someone please help me on this matter?

    i'm quite sure that it has stayed the same and the child voucher has gone down from £250 to £50 or £100 for low income families.

    It's the Child Trust Fund scheme that has been changed. From 1st Aug, it will be £50 or £100 for lower income families. Axed completely next year.

    Sure Start Grant remains the same.

    Thanks, that takes a bit of worry away as i was under the impression that was also changing which would of caused numerous financial problems.

    I hope you mean CHILD TRUST FUND and not Child tax credits ? This could be confusing and worrying for many people.

    Child tax credit is not changing. Yet. There are proposals but nothing is yet set in stone.

    Child trust fund is being reduced in August and scrapped in January.

    The Sure Start maternity grant is still the same. £500 per baby born if the conditions of claim are met.
