Switching Contents Insurance

I pay my contents insurance monthly via direct debit. This was renewed in July.

I moved house last week and called Direct Line to inform them of our new details. The monthly premium has now increased

I have shopped around in the past few days and get a more competitive price from Privilige. I have never made a claim with DL so can I canx the insurance and switch?

Privilige are part of the same group (RBS). I would speak to DL and tell them your intentions, they may drop the price but I doubt it. I don't believe there are any cancelation charges on their product so switching should be straight forward.
  • one house's risk is going to be different to another.

but switching should be easy - just take a look at the cover provided
