£5.99 to £5.14 in 18 Hours. Gas Leak?

Not sure what to think of this. After taking debt and money for Emergency Credit, I was left with £5.99 last night, with all appliances off.
Just checked it now, and it's £5.14.
I have someone coming by to check the meter next Friday in the morning. Annual gas check.
If there's a problem found, is there anything I could do in regards to loss of credit? It always seems that gas goes inconsistently. Some times a tenner will last a month. Sometimes it'll last two minutes.

Isn't there a daily standing charge?0

Can you smell any gas? Unless you have anosmia you'd notice a gas leak quite quickly.
Standing charge could be an answer - has the reading changed?
Gas use can be very seasonal - a cold snap could lead to you using more without changing anything in the house.0 -
1. have you got a pilot light on any gas appliance
2. have you checked with supplier regarding charges etc
3. does you boiler come on to heat water at any time automaticallyI am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0 -
