I've been on IB for almost three year and today I got a IB50 questionnaire to fill in and the letter said i would be send a date for a medical assessment. Why would i be getting this? thought once i was on it i didnt need to to this.

It's probably just to check your situation hasn't changed, when did you last have a medical? 3 years ago? A lot can change in 3 years.

Try not to listen to any horror stories, just be honest and i'm sure you'll be fine. Good luck. Think happy & you'll be happy

Ah right..that makes sense I don't feel my illness is at a point where I can work just yet neither do my doctors, but just have to see what a total stranger thinks. I hate this questionnaires is it just me or do they always seem to ask the same question a few times just in different formats?0

theres some truth in that, what you have to do with an IB50 is score 15 points or more(dependant on why you are claiming),if you do then a medical shouldnt be needed.0 -
My daughter filled in one of these last year and was then called for a medical. She arrived only to be told she should have been told the medical wasn't needed as her GP had provided all the information needed. She's been on IB for 6 years and never had a medical although has filled in lots of forms. Maybe her GP is of some use after all or maybe she is alot iller than we realise.theres some truth in that, what you have to do with an IB50 is score 15 points or more(dependant on why you are claiming),if you do then a medical shouldnt be needed.0 -

Hi, you lucky thing!!! Depending on your circumstances, as mentioned earlier, you may not need a medical, but if you do, the criteria is certainly a lot easier to pass than on ESA.
As you may have gathered, ESA, which is soon to replace IB, is one tough thing to get onto. From what I hear and from personal experience, 70% of claimants are being passed as fit for work!
I am having, like 1000's of other genuine claimants, to take the case to a Tribunal to prove that I am not fit for work. This is taking upwards of 9 months during which time you are put on a 'restricted' level of income.
Don't worry, you will sail through the IB claim.0
