JSA/WFTC Help please

Hi there I'm looking for some help and information if possible.
I'm a single parent and a full time student at university and I finished for the summer today. I applied for JSA last week, had my interview at the job centre yesterday and was told to sign on on Tuesday. All that seemed to go smoothly, so was just waiting to hear when I'd start recieving payments. However, today I was offered a job, which I have accepted and start on Wednesday!:j
Anyway I have a few questions regarding this:
1) I've never signed on before and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do. Do I just go and sign on on Tuesday as planned and tell them then that I'm starting work the next day or call them on Tuesday morning and let them know I'm starting work?
2) I'll only be entitled to 4 days JSA, will they pay me for just 4 days?:o
3) Will I be able to get any other help to keep me going until pay day at my new job, as I won't get my 1st pay until 28th June?
4) Do I have to wait until I sign off before I can claim WFTC or can I go ahead and apply straight away, also how long do these claims usually take to be processed?
Sorry for all the questions and the long post, it's just that I'd like to get everything sorted out as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance.

You cant apply for WTC untill you have started the job so you will have to wait till you get home on 1st day. Should only take a few weeks max to get it sorted and paid to you, as long as its over 16hours that is.0

Thanks very much, I'll do that on Wednesday when I get home then as the job is 20 hours a week.
