Scrounge food off your neighbour and parishners - just seen tv programme on it - seems reasonable ps may help if your a tv vicarSIMPLES!0

Does that include toiletries and cleaning bits?
I spend less for a family, but that's getting deals over months, not having a set amount weekly.
Have you looked at approved foods? If you want items in date you tick the box
I think how achievable it is, depends on your appetites and whether you make lunch. We eat very well and for me it is not about how cheap we can eat, because I could go lower, but about getting a healthy balanced, diet as cheaply as possible.0 -

Go on the grocery challenge thread.
Meal plan.
Batch cook.
Get a slow cooker.
Buy your bread and milk and potatoes at Farmfoods (saves me about a fiver a week).

Stop buying branded goods (unless they are cheaper of course), give value loo roll a try (I don't believe in throwing money down the drain), and slow cookers do make a wonderful job of the cheaper cuts of meat. Also, use Lidl/Aldi if you have one nearby, and have a look at Approved Foods

You're sitting in front of one now, reading this.
It's not the box that is brain numbing, it's what you do with it.
There are a lot of brain numbing programmes on TV, but there are also a lot of very good ones that educate and stimulate your brain.
It's the same with a computer, the internet has good, stimulating and educational sites, but it also has brain numbing sites too. Try twitter of facebook etc!
If you think TV is brain numbing then it's probably because you only ever watched brain numbing programmes on it. Or, if you never had a TV, then maybe you only have friends who watch brain numbing programmes and those are the only ones they talk about.0
