Hello all, is anyone able to offer any advice or recommendation on a good alarm system? Nothing fancy, just something good enough for an average family in an average-sized detached house. We have two young kids, in case that has any bearing on motion sensors, etc.
I'd be particularly interested to hear about brands and which is considered to be the most reliable.
Thanks in advance.

My electrician recommended I get a Texecom brand alarm as it's what he knows best.
I checked out the reviews for the brand and they all seem pretty positive so that's what I'll be getting when I get my act into gear. You can find complete systems on the web / ebay though I'll use a local suppliers. I'm going for the most basic control panel system as it has all I need, plus pet sensors, for about £100 -120.0 -
You'll want one that inform you or a trusted friend/family member so either you or them can to go and check, They take a sim card and send you a text.
Don't bother with just simple an alarm as no one pays any attention to them nowadays.0
