HI there
I am about to try and buy the freehold for my property from Coppen estates Sheffield but have heard they are notoriously difficult to contact etc. I wonder if anyone has managed to buy their freehold from them and any tips on doing so????
Thanks
Billy

Not had any dealings with Coppen estates, but I'm in the process of buying my freehold in Sheffield, and without a doubt it is the most stressful thing I've ever had to do.
One house sale down the pan, 9 months of time lost and 7-800 quid out of pocket. Freeholders out of the country, headleases and underleases hard to contact, underleaser refused to sell to headlease because he wanted stupid amounts of money, court orders issued.........
Can see the light at the end of the tunnel now, signed paperwork at the solicitors, new buyers of my house and offer accepted on a new house (much better than the original house in Dronfield we were in the process of buying). So i hope all the stress and hassle had paid off.
Only bit of advice i can offer is get yourself a very good solicitor. I can recommend one in Sheffield if you require.0
