MSI Bluetooth USB Btoes Dongle

Options
I have an old Msi Bluetooth dongle, which I used with my PC. I now have a Dell notebook, without disc drive, and wanted to install it.
Is it possible?

Hi there, here is a link to the MSI download page, it has a live update tool which should find drivers for your dongle. Failing that it looks like there is a manual search tool aswell. :)

I did try to plug it, and windows does not recognize it. It actually asks to insert the CD, despite not having a CD drive.
As the website is concerned, it may provide drivers, but I think I need the software, or is it the same thing?
Thinking laterally, could I connect my notebook to a PC with CD drive and read the cd from the other PC?
Can I treat the other PC as an external CD drive?

You can just copy the files from the CD on to a USB drive. Change your settings to 'Show hidden files' before doing so.

Alternatively, you can get rid of that ugly thing and get one of these for a couple of pounds or as little as a pound from your local pound shop.

Will this device not need software?

None should need a disc as both XP SP3 and Vista have a built in Bluetooth stack which supports all but Bluetooth 1.0. If your dongle is ver.1.0 and doesn't install automatically, throw it away. It's too old anyway. :)
