Does anyone know how to remove masonry paint from the outside of a house and have it back to the natural brick state?
Thanks

It's quite a job.
You WILL need a specialist product such as PEELAWAY and then you may require some fairly extensive pressure washing or sand blasting, depending on the texture of the brickwork underneath.
It is very difficult to remove all the paint.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
You might want to bear in mind that quite often, houses are painted on the outside to disguise the fact that the bricks used are not attractive or are damaged in some way. If this is the case then removing the masonry paint could reveal a nasty surprise. Just a thought!I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
You might get most of it off the brickwork, but you'll never get it all off the pointing. If you do this, expect to have to repoint at least some of it.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Sandblasting isn't a good idea, it takes the hard face off the brick leaving them more porous and prone to frost damage.0

an expert sandblaster will choose the correct "sand" for the job.
ps,
a lot of commercial buildings are now cleaned off with very high pressure water and not sand.Get some gorm.0
