Cleaning UPVC Window Frames/Cladding

Hi
Hoping someone can advise me. I have been cleaning my window frames/UPVC cladding (I know I'm a bit of a clean freak, I clean my frames, cladding and guttering) and it's not that they are really dirty, it's more how I can keep them looking relatively clean! I normally wash them down with a multi-surface cleaner and then apply car polish to them (recommended by my mum for some reason). It's just then a week later they look as dusty as things seem to then stick to the windows, dust, etc.... and I'm not on a main road or anything.
Is there a better product I should be using and is car polish not such a good idea. It's also difficult to rub off after applying too (autoglym stuff) and I am sure there must be something better either to polish or clean them with initially.
Any advice welcome
Rachel

I always wash down my pvc with Sugar Soap, it gets rid of all the grime, and makes them look so good, it doesnt damage the pvc, but gives them a nice sheen, make sure you go back over them and rinse.0

we havr some accetone cleaner, the window installers/ sellers sell it. It cant be used on a hot day tho, and it smells horrible, but it gets all bult up grime off.

I'm a big fan of Sugar Soap too, my UPVC frames look just as new as the day they were put in, I use SS for everything lol, kitchen tiles, woodwork, cupboards, much better than any other cleaner.0 -

right, i did a search of the forum today as my upvc door and windows are awful and we want to get them clean to move house. in the shops i found:
astonish
jiff (cif)
nail polish remover
stardrops
so i've brought them home and tried them all.
stardrops is awful. only use if your doors are clean in the first place or you're an obsessive cleaning fanatic and clean at least once a day! hehe...
cif is lovely to use and great for generally making the parts cleaner that are already kinda clean. it leaves no residue so only needs wiping over once or twice. however the really dirty bits need more work. that's where astonish came in. definitely better than cif, as it's more abrasive feeling, but it's doesnt get really deep deep down into the serious scratches and you havew to work a bit more on getting rid of the residue. that's where the nail polish remover come into it's own - dead easy to use, but i reckon could work out expensive over a whole house! plus i felt the need to use jif over the top to make it all smell fresh and clean.
astonish is the best value for money @ 85p. also astonish works really well on the rubber seals and bits...
hope this helps someone!0
