Joining new skirting boards

Task tomorrow is to replace the skirting board.
Any chippy's reading this? Its a long run and I need to join two pieces together .What is the angle.
Can dimly remember someone showing me a way of making the join ( less) obvious by cutting a diagonal cut rather just butting the two pieces together. A diagram would help the reader
Or is wallbash finally losing the plot!

45 and/ or overlap, is that the recognised way ?
Have a fine tooth chopsaw , so cutting 'any' angle is going to be
easy/ consistent. Just wondered if there was a 'standard' angle.0 -

on an external corner do a 45 degree on each piece. (if overlt out of square adjust to suit)
On an internal angle put first piece upto wall then scribe next piece into this. Do a 45 degree cut and then with coping saw cut out all endgrain and that will leave u with a scribe to the skirt mould. Even if it is out of square it should look fine if you cut right. Practice practice practice, alternatively pay me to do it!
edit - sorry didnt read properly on a striaght joint just 2 45 degree angles0 -
just make sure they both face the same way!Get some gorm.0

Dream onalternatively pay me to do it!
, not worried about the corners, will be fine as long as I can find my coping saw. But one wall is 13 metres long. So its 45 degrees , many thanks to all.face the same way!
Now I know why God made polyfiller/caulk etc
