I got 100 quid for my C reg ford escort only saturday gone......I asked the guy who picked it up what the current prices are for scrap (after saying to him we've agreed a price so not after getting more and was just happy he was taking it away as to try and not get him to lie)

He said currently about 150 quid per ton of scrap.....that was as of sat.

Some dealers are still doing some sort of scrappage scheme if you are thinking of buying new....though it does depend on age etc etc
If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly

I've only ever been wrong once! and that was when I thought I was wrong but I was right

    Thank's for your reply.

Not looking to buy a new car from a dealer.

I will try and call my scrape yard tomorrow as I'm only looking for £100-150 cash for it, and it's in the trade it for that so would rather it gone.

    Thank's again:D

I'm near salisbury and the guy came from Andover to pick mine up....scrap prices are up so don't accept anything less than what you are looking for ie 100 quid or above;)

I still can't believe someone gave ME money for my old car...amazing.

    Sounds good to me.
I am able to drive mine to the scrape yard as it has Tax and MOT on it for the next month - I just think it will fail its MOT on a few things I am aware of, £400+ easy to put right.

So just want to get rid of it before it becomes a problem for me

Shame, as it is tidy and on a 2000 plate but just don't want to invest anymore money into it as spent a lot on it last MOT.

Had alook online, looks like the Mondeo is nearly 2 tons so hoping for £150 for it :o

    2.5 V6 Automatic Ghia X
    On a 2000 plate

Have no ideal if it needs any major repairs to past its next MOT, but know it may need new brake pads all round, wheel bearing and door wont open from outside which i am told is a MOT failure, just don't want to invest money into it as spent loads last year on the MOT and of course, drinks petrol being a V6

You should stick it on Ebay as spares/repairs. Obviously be clear about any faults or work needing done on the advert.

I done this with a similar aged Mondeo last Summer and got £350 for it. The car I sold was a heap of junk to be honest (and I was honest with the buyer too!! :)) and from what you have described above yours is no where near as bad as this thing was!

Don't send it to the scrapyard because it's got some wear and tear repairs!

eBay it whilst it's still got enough MOT to be driven away!
