I have question for all you techies out there!
If a computer is password protected is it possible to hack into it?
Im talking about the windows administrator account.
I had a row with a friend today about this, he says he knows sombody who has written a programme that can hack any password, But I said unless he can get into the system to load the programme it wont work anyway.
Who is right?
Surley if you put a password on your operating software, nobody will be able to hack in and use it?

The thing is in theory you can hack any password using a brute force method, doest mean its any good or sophisiticated.0

Am I right in suggesting that any password protection on a single HDD with OS will be rendered useless if whoever wants to get at it merely;
Removes it from the PC where it is the primary drive at present, and
Installs it as the secondary, non-booting, drive in another PC?0 -
yes, unless it's encrypted.!!

Seconded. Encryption is the only way. With Windows Vista and Windows 7, you can use Bitlocker on the higher versions. Mac OS X and Linux come with the option to encrypt the drive built in.0
